In the secret ballot, 21 valid votes were cast. Ryszard Kawka received 11 votes. His opponent, Michał Bojanowski, received just one vote fewer.
R. Kawka assured the council that he would be the chairman of all councillors and that he would work for the good of Bolesławiec County.
The result of this vote suggests that the coalition that was formed between Platforma Samorządowa, PiS, Impuls Miasta and the unaffiliated councillor will not hold. A coalition between the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives, PiS, SLD and Ziemia Bolesławiecka is likely.
