During Thursday’s session of the Bolesławiec County Council, councillors considered a draft resolution concerning the merger of two healthcare entities. It concerns the Wielospecjalistyczny Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej „Bolesławiec-Zgorzelec” and the Samodzielny Publiczny Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej in Bogatynia.
The councillors adopted the resolution with 17 votes in favour. Councillor Bogdan Biernat abstained.
What is the purpose of merging the two entities?

The planned merger aims to improve the management of healthcare activities, better coordinate the provision of healthcare services, and use the infrastructure, equipment and human resources of both facilities more efficiently.
Furthermore, the resolution’s justification states that the measures are intended to ensure the stable operation of the healthcare entities, make rational use of their available resources, and improve the organisation of healthcare.
