Today, traffic police officers across Poland will conduct the “Smog” inspection and prevention campaign. Officers will check the technical condition of vehicles, which may affect increased exhaust emissions.
The aim of the operation is to remove from traffic vehicles that violate environmental protection requirements. (Above all, this concerns excessive smoke.)
The nationwide campaign, which will continue until 10:00 p.m., is also educational in nature. Transport, particularly in large cities, contributes to deteriorating air quality. Police officers will remind drivers that the smog affecting everyone is also partly the “work” of technically defective vehicles emitting excessively toxic exhaust fumes.
