A 20-year-old resident of Lubin municipality reported to the Lubin County Police Headquarters, informing officers that he had been wounded in the knee with a knife by his friend. The reason was allegedly a debt. The young man owed PLN 800 to his 18-year-old acquaintance.

Criminal investigators established the suspect’s whereabouts. He turned out to be a 23-year-old resident of Polkowice. The man was arrested.

After learning that her friend had been arrested, the teenager tried to intimidate the victim with a half-metre-long machete. She demanded that he withdraw his testimony.

A short while later, the young woman was arrested and placed in police custody. The machete was secured.

The attackers have already been charged. The 18-year-old faces up to two years in prison. The older attacker could spend as many as five years behind bars. At the investigators’ request, the court ordered the 23-year-old to be held in temporary custody for two months.
