The incident took place on Friday, October 12, at around 1:30 p.m., in the Tarninów district of Legnica. An off-duty police officer noticed a woman running out of a grocery store, followed by a shop assistant who was trying to stop her.

When the woman caught up with the fleeing woman, the latter began pushing and verbally abusing her. Seeing the entire incident—and the fact that none of the men nearby reacted at all—the police officer immediately intervened.

It turned out that the aggressor had stolen alcohol and cigarettes and then used force against the shop assistant, grappling with her. The shop assistant managed to recover only the stolen alcohol.

A strong smell of alcohol was noticeable from the alleged thief. She behaved aggressively and kicked the police officer while trying to leave the scene. The officer notified the duty officer at the station and requested assistance.

The woman firmly denied having stolen anything until the patrol arrived. However, after a moment, she pulled a pack of cigarettes from her trouser leg.

The 32-year-old woman was arrested and placed in police custody. She was completely drunk, with 2.28‰ of alcohol in her system.

She may now face up to 10 years in prison.
