The school received PLN 15,000 for this purpose. This one-time support is intended to make the book collection more attractive and strengthen the potential and role of the school library.

By completing surveys, the students themselves decided which books should appear on the shelves of their library. Although we know our students, we did not expect such a great response, and their enthusiasm when choosing books was enormous.
The young people chose a huge number of titles, including science fiction, non-fiction, biographies, thrillers, fantasy and contemporary fiction. There were also works on psychology, medicine, the history of civilisation and sport.

We did not forget students with various learning difficulties and disabilities; their reading needs were also taken into account when purchasing new titles. In this case, however, teachers were asked to search for, check and recommend specific titles.
Since literature is part of our cultural heritage, and reading develops vocabulary and thinking, broadens horizons and helps us understand the world, we decided to interest the entire local community in reading—not only young people but also adults.
In today’s difficult world, especially for students, a book can be a source of joy, creativity and satisfaction. For adults, the sight of a young person holding a book should bring the much-anticipated joy.
