Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra arrested a 24-year-old resident of Jarocin. From June to September, the man committed at least 15 property-related crimes in Jelenia Góra, Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba.
The detainee broke into and robbed utility rooms, cars, bars and campsites. His loot included cash, gas detectors, laptops, navigation devices, mobile phones, bicycles, documents and other items.
(At one of the guesthouses in Karpacz, the man took advantage of the receptionist’s brief absence and stole two laptops; he also appropriated two mountain bikes rented in Szklarska Poręba. In addition, he stole an electric bicycle that its owner had briefly left on a street in Karpacz).
The losses caused by the serial thief’s criminal activity have initially been estimated at approximately PLN 40,000.
What is more, the 24-year-old stayed at one of the hotels in Jelenia Góra County with his girlfriend. Not only did he fail to pay for the stay, but he also damaged the hotel’s property.
The burglar has already been placed under police supervision. He could face up to 10 years in prison.
