The incident occurred after midnight on August 28. Officers from the Zgorzelec traffic police wanted to stop the Audi driver for a check. He did not stop; on the contrary, ignoring the light and sound signals given by the officers, he accelerated and began to flee. The police gave chase.
The man fled, disregarding traffic regulations. After a while, he was arrested.
It turned out that the 38-year-old from Zgorzelec County was fleeing because he had been banned from driving. What is more, while speaking with the suspect, the officers began to suspect that he was drunk.
He was not drunk; nevertheless, it emerged that he had got behind the wheel under the influence of drugs. As if that were not enough, the officers found marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle.
(It is also worth adding that the arrested suspect is also suspected of stealing perfume worth more than PLN 2,000).
The man was arrested and has already been charged. He could now face up to five years in prison.
