On Wednesday, August 29, the election campaign of Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives officially got underway at Bolesławiec Market Square. The committee was registered in all 16 voivodeships in Poland.
The press conference on Wednesday was attended by the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Cezary Przybylski, Bolesławiec president Piotr Roman, Bolesławiec Commune head Andrzej Dutkowski, Warta Bolesławiecka Commune head Mirosław Haniszewski, Nowogrodziec mayor Robert Relich, and Bolesławiec deputy county head Tomasz Gabrysiak. (The two remaining commune heads will also run under the Nonpartisan banner: Dariusz Pawliszczy from Gromadka and Waldemar Nalazek from Osiecznica).
“We are launching the election campaign as Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives,” said C. Przybylski. “We want to show that we are together. Lower Silesia is a very dynamically developing region, and the communes of Bolesławiec County are among the leaders of the voivodeship.”
Piotr Roman also said that Cezary Przybylski would be the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives’ candidate for voivodeship marshal. “It is very important to us that he remain marshal, because thanks to him the communes of Bolesławiec County receive very substantial support,” stressed the head of the City of Ceramics.
He added: “This is an unprecedented event. Never in the history of local government have all the commune heads, the mayor and the city president reached an agreement on a joint programme and a joint project for the County. It is proof of excellent cooperation and trust.”
Cezary Przybylski:
Why is this initiative so important for communes, counties, voivodeships and all of Poland? We do not have a headquarters in Warsaw or a decision-making centre in the capital. We decide for ourselves which matters are most important to our residents.
What do you think? How do you assess the Nonpartisan Local Government Representatives’ chances? We invite you to join the discussion.
