The August weekend on Lower Silesia’s roads was relatively calm. Since Friday, 24 road accidents have occurred in Lower Silesia, in which 31 people were injured.
Recklessness, excessive speed, improper manoeuvres and failure to yield the right of way remain the main causes of road incidents. Importantly, no fatal accidents were recorded last weekend.
Unfortunately, during this period, officers arrested as many as 82 people who got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
It was not only the traffic police who were on duty. Lower Silesian officers carried out 4,414 various interventions. They arrested as many as 190 criminals in the act. Police also apprehended 71 wanted persons, including 3 minors.
