The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 15, in the afternoon. Officers from the District Police Headquarters were alerted by a 59-year-old Bolesławiec resident, who had caught a bicycle thief.
The officers established that the victim had arrived on his bicycle, worth PLN 1,500, at one of the petrol stations in Bolesławiec. He left his vehicle and went inside. While shopping, he noticed a young man getting on his bicycle and riding away. Without hesitation, he ran out of the shop and caught the thief after a few metres.
The thief turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of Dzierżoniów County. The man has already been charged with attempted theft. He now faces up to five years in prison.
