Criminal investigators from the police station in Wrocław’s Krzyki district received information about the theft of an Audi A6 passenger car. (The car had been parked on Orzechowa Street in Wrocław. When the owner wanted to drive it away in the morning, he found that the vehicle, worth PLN 35,000, was no longer in the parking lot. A camera and a lawn mower were also inside the car).

Operational activities led officers from the capital of Lower Silesia all the way to a forest near Chojnów. There, they found the stolen car, which had license plates from Bolesławiec County installed on it. A 37-year-old thief was sitting inside the vehicle and was completely stunned by the sight of the police officers.

The man was arrested. He was taken into police custody. He did not admit to the crime. He explained that someone he did not know had driven him to the forest in the stolen Audi and told him to wait in the car.

Investigators did not believe the 37-year-old’s vague explanations. He was charged with burglary.

What is more, it came to light that the detained man had already been convicted of crimes against property. Last year, he was released from prison, where he had served 10 years.

The 37-year-old could now face up to 15 years behind bars. (The car was returned to its owner).
