On the night of July 20–21, an attempted burglary took place in Bolesławiec. (The would-be thieves failed to take any loot.) A few days later, two men (aged 29 and 35), residents of Bolesławiec County, were arrested in connection with the case. Both confessed and were charged.
However, that was not the end of the story. During police activities, it turned out that one of the suspects—the 35-year-old—had various items on him (including commemorative medals and electronic equipment). The officers knew that they did not belong to the suspect.
At the same time, a victim came to the Bolesławiec police station and reported a burglary at his home and the theft of various items worth approximately PLN 300. It turned out that the stolen property was in the possession of the arrested 35-year-old. (The victim left the station with his belongings just an hour later, while the thief was placed in police custody.)
Moreover, the following day, officers apprehended a 34-year-old man who had helped his colleague, a year older, steal the medals. Both accomplices confessed.
The three burglars could now face up to 10 years in prison.
