On July 13, at around 11:00 a.m., the duty officer of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received a report that a reptile resembling a snake was located near buildings on Zgorzelecka Street. A patrol was sent to the site and secured the area until the veterinarian arrived.
The veterinarian who arrived at the site captured the animal. It was determined to be probably a smooth snake, which is non-venomous but is often mistaken for an adder. In Poland, the smooth snake is protected.
