The incident occurred on the night from Monday to Tuesday. The 18-year-old went to hospital with a cut to his leg. He claimed that he had been attacked and stabbed with a knife by an unknown assailant near one of the shoe shops in Bolesławiec.
The police took up the case. Investigators quickly established that the man was lying. At the scene of the alleged attack, officers noticed a smashed window and a damaged car. It turned out that the 18-year-old himself had caused the damage.
He now faces up to five years in prison.
