A pumptrack, skatepark and climbing wall have been built near the Bolesławiec viaduct—some people already call the facility “Wiadukt plaza.” The following will be built in the next stage:
- sensory park
- volleyball courts
- changing-room building
- playgrounds
- event area
- barbecue area
- kayak landing
- beach
- car parking spaces.
This year, as part of the project “Development of the area above the Bóbr River for sports and recreational purposes,” ramps, reconstructed stairs, reinforced roads around the new facilities, and small-architecture elements—including bins, benches and bicycle racks—were also completed.
A pumptrack is a bicycle track. The one in Bolesławiec is the largest flow track of its kind, combining racing sections, flow sections for performing jumps, and an easy section for beginners and intermediate riders. The youngest children, including toddlers on balance bikes, have not been forgotten either. Two facilities have been built for them.
The acceptance procedures for the completed sports and recreational facility will continue until mid-July. Only an occupancy permit will make it possible to use the new sports and recreational facility.
The first sporting event will take place on August 4 (Saturday). The new skatepark will host the Polish qualifiers for the European skateboarding event Vans Shop Riot. This year marks its 10th anniversary edition. The country’s winning team will compete in the final of the iconic event, which this year will take place in Milan, Italy.
The following day, August 5 (Sunday), will see the eighth stage of the IX Grand Prix Kaczmarek Electric MTB 2018—an event for everyone who enjoys cycling and the atmosphere of sporting competition. It is also an opportunity for the whole family to spend their free time in an interesting way. Each race includes additional attractions prepared mainly with children in mind.
