During the next session of the Bolesławiec City Council, the councillors will adopt—or not—a resolution on determining the remuneration of the President of Bolesławiec. Until now, under a resolution adopted in December 2014, P. Roman earned PLN 12,365.00 gross. From July, if the councillors decide so, he will earn nearly PLN 1,500 gross less. The justification for the draft resolution reads:
[…] the maximum monthly remuneration of a member of the governing body of a local government unit and of a commune head (mayor, city president) may not exceed, during a month, including the long-service allowance, seven times the base amount set in the Budget Act for persons holding managerial state positions. Pursuant to the Budget Act for 2018, the base amount referred to above is PLN 1,789.42, which means that the maximum monthly remuneration of the persons listed may not exceed PLN 12,525.94 in 2018.The justification for adopting the resolution is Table IB, specified in Annex 1 to the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 15 May 2018 on the remuneration of local-government employees (consolidated text, Journal of Laws of 2018, item 936), establishing basic remuneration amounts 20% lower than before for employees appointed through elections, effective from 1 July 2018 […].
