Lubin police were notified that a man had been beaten and a wallet containing documents had been stolen. The victim, a 45-year-old resident of Lubin, told officers that he had been attacked moments after asking a man for help.
This is what happened: the 45-year-old felt unwell and wanted to get to a clinic, but due to his condition he was unable to do so on his own. He asked a 35-year-old resident of Polkowice to call a taxi.
When the taxi arrived, the “helpful” suspect got in with the sick man. (He supposedly wanted to make sure that the 45-year-old reached the doctor.) Unfortunately, when both men got out of the taxi, the man from Polkowice hit the 45-year-old and knocked him to the ground. He then stole his wallet.
The suspect was arrested. He explained that he had been drunk when he committed the crime. The resident of Polkowice now faces up to 12 years in prison.
