A sign reading “Parking exclusively for visitors to the municipal cemetery. Towing at the owner’s expense” has appeared in the parking lot by the Bolesławiec municipal cemetery (on the Gdańska Street side). And as can be seen in the photo below, those who want to visit their loved ones’ graves no longer have a problem parking their vehicles.
Let us recall. In May, a Reader called us and reported that there was a problem with parking by the cemetery. As he explained, when the necropolis was managed by the municipal company MZGK, this parking lot was paid, and those who came to visit their loved ones’ graves had no trouble parking their vehicles.
“Since the manager changed, this parking lot has been free of charge, and from morning onward it has been completely occupied by employees of the nearby ceramic company,” the Reader told us.
What is more, the man recently witnessed the following situation: a woman using crutches arrived at the cemetery in the morning. Naturally, she had nowhere to park. Fortunately, the women from a nearby shop allowed her to leave her car in the shop’s driveway.
“This isn’t even about me,” our interlocutor explained. “I’m concerned about those elderly people who cannot come to the cemetery, for example, at the weekend.”
Moreover, according to the Reader, if an emergency occurred at the cemetery during working hours—on the Gdańska Street side specifically—neither an ambulance nor the fire brigade would be able to get there.
We asked the management of the Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Mieszkaniowej in Bolesławiec for comment on the matter. So far, we have not received a response. But as we can see, the Reader’s appeal produced the desired result.
