A reader contacted our editorial office and drew attention to the way cars are parked on Ślusarska Street:
(…) I am writing to you to raise the issue of parking on Ślusarska Street. What is happening here is beyond human comprehension.
She also referred to the nearby hospital’s investment:
Instead of a helipad, the hospital should build a large parking lot, rather than occupying spaces for residents of Wojska Polskiego 6 from the morning.
The reader is primarily drawing attention to the possibility of walking along the pavement.
I am writing as a mother of two children. How are we supposed to get along this pavement?
Reports had been made to the municipal police
According to the resident, the parking problem had already been reported to the municipal police: “There were calls to the municipal police several times. Zero response.”
Ślusarska Street will be reconstructed
As we reported a few days ago, Powiat Bolesławiecki commissioned the preparation of design documentation for the reconstruction of this road. The plans are connected, among other things, with investments being carried out on the grounds of the Bolesławiec hospital.
One element of the planned changes is to be bringing order to the parking situation. The hospital has prepared a development plan for part of its plot adjoining Ślusarska Street. New parking spaces are ultimately to be created there.
Starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak spoke about the plans during the September session of the Bolesławiec County Council.
– We need to resolve the parking issue there, but we also want the designer to suggest what technical solutions should be adopted so that the road serves its purpose – the starosta said.
The reconstruction design is to include both improved traffic flow and safety, as well as the possibility of creating as many parking spaces as possible.
We will return to this topic.
