To use the e-service, you must have a Trusted Profile (eGO), a tool for verifying a citizen’s identity. You can check your points account by accessing the Obywatel.gov.pl service.

The data presentation includes the total number of penalty points, the date the violation was committed, vehicle information, the location of the violation, driver details and information about the number of so-called temporary points.

A Trusted Profile (eG0) can be set up in two ways:

  • traditionally, by registering at pz.gov.pl and then visiting a Confirmation Point with a valid identity document
  • without leaving home, using an external identity provider. Currently, this option is available to customers of:
    PKO BP
    Inteligo
    ING
    Envelo
    Millennium Bank

In the coming weeks, further institutions will join the group of external identity providers.

The Obywatel.gov.pl service, created by the team at Centralnego Ośrodka informatyki, was launched in March 2015. Its purpose is to provide citizens with the highest-quality information about the activities of the government administration and public services. In 2016, the Obywatel.gov.pl service was visited by more than 4.7 million unique users, who generated more than 18 million page views. The service currently offers 176 services, including 35 online.

The launch of the “Check Your Penalty Points” service is the first stage of the CEPiK 2.0 Programme. Further e-services will be launched in 2018. They will include:

  • “My Vehicle” (the ability to check detailed vehicle information online)
  • “Driver Entitlements” (the ability to check detailed information online about driving entitlements for vehicles in various categories)
  • “Share Your Data with Your Employer” (A service for professional drivers. It enables them to voluntarily share personal data from the CEPiK database with their employer, such as the number of penalty points accumulated)
  • “Check a Driving School and Instructor” (the ability to check online how many students of a given instructor or graduates of a driving school pass the exam)
  • “Remind Me About Deadlines” (An option to receive notifications—by email or SMS—about vehicle technical inspection dates, the need to extend third-party liability insurance, drivers’ medical examinations and more).
