The aim of the training was to improve the skills of personnel manning the command posts of the regiment and its battalions in directing fire, combined with an assessment of the functional personnel’s readiness to carry out fire-support tasks using live ammunition.
During the assembly that began the Fire Direction Training, the battalion commanders received a combat order. The subunits then moved to the designated areas of departure and began carrying out tactical and fire missions. For two days, the WR-40 Langusta multiple rocket launcher and self-propelled DANA howitzer battalions carried out live-fire missions during the day and at night, while the command-post personnel improved their skills in directing combat operations using the reconnaissance system and ICT system.
In addition, during the training, the personnel of the Command Post of the 23rd Artillery Regiment improved their cooperation with the Joint Fire Support Coordination Teams of the division and brigade, while the self-propelled artillery and rocket subunits practiced carrying out fire missions within fire-support relationships. The Joint Fire Support Coordination Teams’ tasks were carried out as part of the practical section of a training course conducted by the Chief of the WRiA of the 11th Armored Cavalry Division.
The BŁYSKAWICA-18 Fire Direction Training was part of the regiment’s preparations to participate in the BORSUK-18 tactical exercise with troops, conducted by the commander of the 11th Armored Cavalry Division.
