A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, 15 May, on the A18 road, after 4:00 p.m. The driver of a Fiat van, a 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen, for reasons not yet established, crashed into the back of a Volvo lorry driven by a 51-year-old resident of nowosolski district. (The lorry was standing in a traffic jam)

The Ukrainian man died at the scene. The police and prosecutor’s office are investigating the case. As we read on the Facebook profile of the volunteer firefighters from Przejęsław (Osiecznica gmina):

[...] we were dispatched to an accident involving a van and a lorry. The incident occurred on national road A18 toward Olszyna; unfortunately, the accident proved fatal, [...] the van driver was killed.

Units from WSP, JRG Bolesławiec, OSP Przejęsław, OSP Trzebień, OSP Ławszowa, the police and the ambulance service took part in the operation.
