At the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Nicholas in Bolesławiec, 3 Kościelna Street, the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble will perform under the direction of Andrzej Kosendiak, director of the National Forum of Music. During the concert, we will hear, among other works, a sonata for two violins and basso continuo—the only known purely instrumental work by Szarzyński, regarded as one of the finest compositions of the Polish Baroque.

The musicians of the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble, together with the soloists, will also perform the motet Ad hymnos ad cantus, written for two sopranos, alto, tenor, bass and instrumental ensemble. That evening, we will also hear the composer's sacred concertos: Pariendo non gravaris, Veni Sancte Spiritus and Iesu spes mea. The latter (Jesus, my hope) is considered Szarzyński's most beautiful concerto—the composer used in it the melody of the church song “Przez czyśćcowe upalenia”.
