The Volunteer Fire Department in Czerna (Nowogrodziec municipality), which was one of the initiators of the phenomenal Emergency Corridor campaign (we have written about this initiative many times in our pages), has been honored with a Firefighter Oscar—the FLORIANY 2018 statuette.
Forty-eight Volunteer Fire Departments competed for these valuable trophies, with their projects nominated by the Competition Jury. The final gala of the 2nd Nationwide Competition for the Best Initiatives for Local Communities involving Volunteer Fire Departments and Local Governments, FLORIANY, took place on Friday, May 11, in Warsaw. Our firefighters—together with the co-initiators of the Emergency Corridor campaign, the Volunteer Fire Department in Ujazd Górny—won in the “Safety” category.
