The incident took place on March 23 in Jelenia Góra. While the 29-year-old was riding in a taxi, he took advantage of the driver’s inattention and robbed him. The thief took a wallet containing a payment card.
The man decided to make use of what he had stolen. He paid 45 times with someone else’s card for various purchases, including at pharmacies, discount stores and restaurants. The owner estimated the losses at more than PLN 1,200.
Based on an analysis of surveillance footage, officers identified and arrested the thief. The 29-year-old now faces up to 10 years in prison.
