That night, burglars struck again in Nowogrodziec Municipality—this time in Gierałtów. Fortunately, the owner woke up during the night and scared off the criminals. Does this mean that a gang of serial burglars is operating in this municipality?
As we have established, several such incidents did indeed occur in Nowogrodziec Municipality in the spring. However, the criminals’ modus operandi was not consistent, so it cannot be conclusively stated that the same person or people were responsible. What is more, the items targeted by the burglars also varied. This likewise contradicts the theory that master thieves had taken a liking to one of the municipalities in our county.
Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters are conducting operational activities in Nowogrodziec Municipality. As a result, several suspects have already been detained, including three men who, unable to start a stolen car, towed it away, as well as a resident of Zgorzelec County who was wanted by the German justice system.
Unfortunately, burglars are also eagerly taking advantage of the fact that the weather has become warm and people sleep with their windows open or slightly ajar. This makes the thieves’ “work” easier.
