The rubble from the monument was transported to the Regional Municipal Waste Processing Facility, where it will be crushed and used, for example, during road repairs. “Dismantling the pedestal caused considerable difficulties for our employees,” says Malwina Komarnicka of LPGK. “It had been very solidly reinforced.” The site formerly occupied by the pedestal will be covered with granite slabs.

The monument was removed from its pedestal on Saturday with the help of a 40-ton crane. The figures, weighing more than 3.5 tons, were transported by truck to an LPGK warehouse. The bas-reliefs were also taken there. In the future, they will be displayed together with similar historical artifacts in a lapidarium to be created by the Copper Museum.

The monument was dismantled by LPGK employees. The municipal company offered the most favorable price—approximately PLN 53,000.
