In the forest near Jeleniogórska Street in Bolesławiec, there are many charming places. One of them is a historic staircase. The staircase leads up a hill. There used to be a monument in the form of a tall cross.. It was erected during the interwar period. It commemorated Germans who died in World War I.
After World War II and Bolesławiec’s incorporation into Poland, the monument was destroyed. To this day, some of its elements have survived, scattered throughout the forest.
Unfortunately, vandals also make their presence known in such a place. Recently, someone painted part of the historic staircase with brightly colored paints 😡
Can nothing here really be preserved unless it is constantly monitored? It is enough to make your hands drop.
