Officers from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report of a bicycle theft. It turned out that the bicycle belonged to a 22-year-old resident of Trzebnica County, who had come to Bolesławiec for a competition. The stolen vehicle was worth... PLN 11,500.
The detectives’ swift work produced the desired result—the bicycle was found. The owner, a cycling enthusiast who has been competing in various races for eight years, was overjoyed.
The officers returned the 22-year-old’s property one hour before the competition began. The athlete still managed to take part in the contest.
Steps are under way to apprehend the perpetrator of the theft. He could face up to five years in prison.
