The driver of a Seat, travelling along Hutnicza Street in Lubin, was impatient. He did not drive to a place where he could legally make a U-turn; he did so in a prohibited location. He drove across a pedestrian crossing and then over the pavement separating the road. And all of this… right in front of traffic police officers.
The 23-year-old resident of Lubin was stopped for inspection. As it turned out, the offence he had committed was by no means his biggest worry. The officers found tourist suitcases in the car, completely packed with tools originating from a theft.
It emerged that shortly beforehand, the man had broken into one of the cellars in the city. He was returning home with the loot.
The 23-year-old was taken into police custody. He now faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
