Community police officers from Bolesławiec, Kruszyn, Nowogrodziec and Warta Bolesławiecka visit schools throughout the county. Various topics are discussed. Meetings with the youngest pupils primarily involve reminding them of:
- road safety rules
- how to use emergency telephone numbers
- how to react appropriately if approached by a stranger.
Students from the Primary School in Warta Bolesławiecka, following the information they heard during a meeting with a community police officer, made drawings illustrating safety rules and described what they had learned during the meeting with the policewoman. As a thank-you for the visit, preschoolers from Kraśnik Dolny made a card by hand.
Talks in older classes are held, among other things, as part of addiction prevention activities. The Bolesławiec police unit is participating in the project “No to Drugs – Increasing Police Effectiveness in Counteracting Drug-Related Crime in the Polish-German Border Area.”
During meetings at schools, police officers make students aware of how harmful drugs are and how negatively they can affect a young person’s life. They also explain the responsibility associated with drug-related crime.
