He wrote to us a Reader, a resident of Bolesławiec:
Help me save my family, what I dreamed of and what I love.
Mr Sebastian was hit by a drunk driver on the pavement on Garncarska Street on February 3. He was on his way to the hospital to see his little son Filip, who had pneumonia. The injured man said: “I suffered numerous injuries: a broken ankle and a fracture of my left arm… The driver was drunk; he drove into me while I was on the pavement. I then spent three weeks in hospital myself and had two operations. I left the hospital two weeks ago…”
The Reader’s girlfriend is currently seven months pregnant; she cannot work. Mr Sebastian cannot work either—for obvious reasons. (He previously worked in construction.) “Because of this unfortunate accident, I am at risk of losing my family. As if there were not enough problems, a bailiff has blocked the money granted to us by MOPS to buy food. We call and ask, but they do not want to unblock the funds in the postal bank,” he says.
The Bolesławiec resident’s family rents a studio apartment in the City of Ceramics, which costs PLN 1,000 per month. “We try to pay the owner as much as we can. He is understanding,” says Mr Sebastian.
He adds: “Why am I writing? I am appealing to people with good hearts. We do not want money, but help in the form of food and clothes for the baby due to be born in May.”

Mr Sebastian:
You are the best; you do not remain indifferent to human suffering. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The people of Bolesławiec have shown tremendous generosity. We already have almost the entire layette for the baby. And now I am waiting for a gentleman who will bring food. There is no shortage of people with good hearts.
Please add that we no longer need help and that we are grateful. We already have so many things. We do not want to take advantage of people’s kindness. There are others in need too.
