The incident took place last weekend in the center of Bolesławiec. Police received information that two men had attacked a teenager. When Bolesławiec officers arrived at the scene and established the attackers’ descriptions, they began searching for them.

After a short while, they noticed two men with a bicycle. As it turned out, they were responsible for the assault. While the suspects were being detained, a teenager approached the police officers and said that he, too, had been attacked, and that the bicycle in the criminals’ possession had been stolen from him moments earlier.

Based on the information gathered, police established that the 27- and 22-year-old men had first attacked one of the teenagers for no reason, beating him, and then assaulted a boy riding a bicycle. Using force, they stole the vehicle from him. (The recovered bicycle, worth PLN 600, was returned to its owner.)

Both the 27-year-old and the 22-year-old resident of Bolesławiec are very well known to local police. The detainees have already been charged with robbery and assault. The older attacker is a repeat offender.

At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered both aggressors to be held in pre-trial detention for three months. The younger man faces up to 12 years in prison, while the older man could spend as many as 18 years behind bars.
