The incident occurred on Wednesday, 14 February. At around 5 p.m., the operator of the Bolesławiec city video-monitoring system noticed a person on the railway viaduct who was leaning far over the safety railing.
The operator immediately sent municipal police officers to the scene. There, the desperate man told the officers that he wanted to jump. He added that he had had enough of life. He also showed the officers a psychiatric treatment card (suicidal tendencies, persecutory mania).
The officers came down from the viaduct together with the desperate man. They notified the police and emergency medical services. The paramedics decided to take the man to hospital.
On the same day, the duty officer of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police also received a report about a group of young people who had entered the viaduct and were taking pictures of themselves.
