Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre planned projects that enable younger and older residents of Bolesławiec to develop their creative passions. These include the project “Tango Milonga – Polish-Czech Dance Workshops” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Project value: PLN 87,048; own contribution: PLN 8,705. Implementation period: 2017–2018. The partner is Jablonec nad Nisou. The aim of the project is to improve Argentine tango techniques by organising workshops held at BOK – MCC.
“Comedy Without Borders – Polish-Czech Film Meetings” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Project value: PLN 89,320; own contribution: PLN 8,932. Implementation period: 2017–2018. Partner: Liberec. The aim of the project is to popularise Czech and Polish comedy films and organise a series of Polish-Czech meetings for comedy-film enthusiasts in Bolesławiec.
“Polish-Czech Photographic Impressions. Bolesławiec – Trutnov 2017” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Project value: PLN 55,129; own contribution: PLN 5,513. Implementation period: 2017. Partners: Trutnov Museum and Camera Photographic Association. Project objectives: integration of photographic communities from Bolesławiec and Trutnov (Czech Republic) and organisation of four-day photography workshops. The project concluded with an exhibition of photographs organised in both cities.
“Application for Support for an Organisation Promoting Film Culture through a Film Club” under the National Film Archive/Polish Film Institute programme. Implemented by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Project value: PLN 6,000; own contribution: PLN 0. Implementation period: 2017. Project objective: popularisation of films addressing important issues, inspiring significant reflection and possessing high artistic value. The dkfbok Film Discussion Club brings together enthusiasts of good cinema that often has no place in commercial programmes. These are weekly meetings preceded by a lecture before the film and followed by a discussion.
“Independence Is US” under the Niepodległa 2017 programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Implemented by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Project value: PLN 22,644; own contribution: PLN 0. Implementation period: 2017. Project objective: popularisation of patriotism through art competitions, music workshops and a concert by Bolesławiec choirs.
“For the Development of Cinemas, Priority – Cinema Digitisation”. Application submitted under the Polish Film Institute programme. Implemented by Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Project value: PLN 129,800; own contribution: PLN 0. Implementation period: 2018. Project objective: purchase and installation of a digital projector for the Forum cinema in Bolesławiec.
The Municipal Public Library is implementing projects aimed, among other things, at promoting reading, purchasing new publications, organising author meetings and presenting issues related to the history of Poland and the region.
Project “My Homeland” under the Niepodległa 2017 programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Implemented by the Municipal Public Library. Project value: PLN 8,600; own contribution: PLN 1,290. Implementation period: 2017. Project objective: presenting the local community with issues related to the liberation movement by learning about the history of Poland and the region.
“Following a Dream, or in Conrad’s Footsteps” under the programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Implemented by the Municipal Public Library. Project value: PLN 20,336; own contribution: PLN 5,336. Implementation period: 2017. Project objective: popularisation of knowledge about Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski. Thirteen events were organised as part of the project.
“Purchase of New Publications for Public Libraries” under the National Library programme. Implemented by the Municipal Public Library. Project value: PLN 56,400; own contribution: PLN 28,200. Implementation period: 2017. Project objective: promoting reading by purchasing new publications – printed and audiobooks.
Projects by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre are mainly aimed at popularising sport and spending free time actively, as well as improving sports and recreational infrastructure in Bolesławiec. The project “Two Countries, One River” is a recreational event under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Project value: PLN 61,654; own contribution: PLN 6,165. Implementation period: 2016–2017. Partner: Česká Lípa. Project objective: popularisation of sport through the organisation of recreational events.
Connected by a River – Modernisation of the “Bobrowa Path” Off-Road Running and Cycling Route Along the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme, Microprojects Fund in the Nysa Euroregion. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 134,889; own contribution: PLN 13,489. Implementation period: 2016–2017. Partner: Česká Lípa. Project objective: modernisation of the “Bobrowa Path” off-road running and cycling route along the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec, with a total length of 2 km, and enriching it with small-scale architecture, including a rest area, as well as installing information and directional signs and creating a so-called health trail.
“International Swimming Competition – Sport as an Element of Cross-Border Integration” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 86,931; own contribution: PLN 8,693. Implementation period: 2017. Partner: Hrádek nad Nisou. Project objective: promoting swimming by organising a three-day meeting for active people from the Polish-Czech borderland. The event programme included activities for all age groups, in all swimming styles and over varying distances.
“Euroregional Street Runs – Building Cross-Border Identity through Sport and Recreation” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 62,662; own contribution: PLN 6,266. Implementation period: 2017–2018. Partner: Hrádek nad Nisou. The project aims to promote running by organising a meeting for active people from the Polish-Czech borderland, to be held in Bolesławiec in 2018. The event programme included activities for participants of all age groups, as well as accompanying events promoting running as one of the most popular forms of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
“Colourful World of Children – We Will Overcome Borders through Fun and Smiles” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 70,713; own contribution: PLN 7,071. Implementation period: 2017–2018. Partner: Hrádek nad Nisou. The project aims to integrate the youngest children from the Polish-Czech borderland, as well as their parents and guardians, during a planned meeting organised for International Children’s Day in Bolesławiec in 2018. The project includes, among other things, recreational competitions, an art contest, an artistic programme featuring participant performances, numerous attractions for children and shows.
“Active Without Borders – Euroregional Senior Spartakiad” under the Interreg V-A Czech Republic – Poland 2014–2020 programme. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 63,090; own contribution: PLN 6,309. Implementation period: 2017–2018. Partner: Hrádek nad Nisou. The project aims to integrate seniors from the Polish-Czech borderland by organising a meeting to be held in Bolesławiec in 2018. The project includes a recreational and sports event: team and individual competitions, a cultural programme with artistic performances and shows by participants, a guided tour of Bolesławiec, quizzes about the partners and the EU, and an integration meeting featuring Polish and Czech music.
“Skating ABC – Sports and Recreational Activities with Educational Elements under the Winter Sports Promotion Programme”. Ministry of Sport and Tourism – Sports Activities Fund for Students; task: promoting winter sports. Implemented by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. Project value: PLN 30,000; own contribution: PLN 15,000. Implementation period: 2018. The project aims to promote a programme of universal ice-skating instruction and improvement of skating techniques.
Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec, primary schools and Bolesławiec Water Park “Orka” are implementing the project “I Can Swim” under the programme of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, with the participation of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Project value: PLN 86,025; own contribution: PLN 16,275. Programme objective: promoting swimming instruction among children. In 2017, 465 children from Bolesławiec took part in the universal swimming programme and completed a 20-hour course at the “Orka” indoor swimming pool. The project has been implemented since 2014. A total of 1,550 children have taken part, and Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec has obtained a total of PLN 232,500. We are awaiting new application deadlines for implementation in 2018.
Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec and primary schools are implementing the project “School Sports Club” under the programme of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. Project value: PLN 71,050; own contribution – free use of sports facilities located at schools. Implementation period: 2017. Programme objective: enabling additional physical activity in the form of sports and recreational activities supervised by the teacher responsible for physical education at the school. As part of the programme, children attended extracurricular sports activities twice a week throughout 2017, excluding the winter and summer holidays. Around 150 children (10 groups) took part in the programme at Bolesławiec primary schools. In 2018, an application is planned to finance activities for the same number of groups.
