On Wednesday, January 17, in the article Pseudo-drifting a BMW on II Armii Wojska Polskiego in Bolesławiec, we presented a video submitted by a Reader. A heated debate erupted on our forums. Some people were, indeed, outraged by the BMW driver’s driving. Nevertheless, a large group of internet users downplayed the situation, writing that in reality nothing had happened and that we were making a mountain out of a molehill.
We therefore asked our police for comment. “One may presume that if the driver had been in control of the car, he would not have violated traffic regulations,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, on behalf of officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police. “Instead, he committed a series of different offenses. It was highly irresponsible behavior.”
As the police emphasize, if someone wants to perform this type of maneuver, they certainly should not do so on a public road or in such weather conditions. For example, a situation could arise in which someone approaching from the opposite direction, seeing the BMW driver lose control, becomes frightened and makes some nervous and unnecessary movement of the steering wheel. Then disaster could easily follow.
