The Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels is concerned about the withdrawal of universal petrol from sale. Representatives of the organisation claim that the disappearance of universal petrol from the market will make life more difficult for owners of older cars.
The latest signals from PKN Orlen have also raised doubts. A representative of Orlen’s press office announced that the company would produce a potassium additive, but intended solely for fuel produced by the company itself.
It is not known whether this is merely a marketing ploy or whether Orlen intends to produce an additive that can be mixed only with its own fuel. The Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels expects several additives from different producers to appear on the market.
Representatives of Orlen and Lotos announce that they will begin an information campaign on the use of the additive with unleaded fuel at the end of November. Fuel-market experts estimate that sales of universal petrol will decline. Over the past three years, its sales have fallen by half.
