Our Reader wrote to us:

For 30 minutes, in my housing estate on Parkowa Street, [...] a bunch of drugged-up 15-year-olds were forcing open the dumpster enclosure gate with stones... Screaming and frenzy, like at a cheap harvest festival, and breaking glass...

For 15 MINUTES I tried to reach the municipal police and the police by phone!!! NO RESPONSE. THREE KINGS, ARE THE AUTHORITIES CELEBRATING, GENTLEMEN??? Completely, completely NO RESPONSE!!! But drink a beer in the grass by the river—and they show up within a minute!!!

And she added:

What would have happened if it had not been such a “trivial matter” as vandalizing dumpsters, but something much more serious?

As for the municipal police, the matter has been clear from the very beginning. Municipal police officers... do not work on Sundays and public holidays. This information can even be found on the website of this Bolesławiec service.

What was the situation with the police? “At the time this woman called us, the dispatchers had several reports,” explains asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec police. “We have one line for the entire county, which is why we so often ask and remind people not to block it unnecessarily.”

Importantly, soon all reports will be handled by the Voivodeship Emergency Notification Centre. The advantage of this situation is that there will be a dozen or so operators at the WCPR, so it will be easier to get through. The downside? The centre’s employees in Wrocław are not always familiar with the topography and specific nature of the Lower Silesian counties. There have been cases where uniformed officers from KPP Bolesławiec were passed reports that did not concern their area.

It turned out that while the Reader was trying to reach the police emergency number, some “joker” was doing the same. The man called and then did not say anything at all. He hung up and called again. The situation was repeated many times.

For now, it is not known whether the prankster was tracked down. We will return to the subject.
