Police officers from the Legnica traffic unit noticed an Opel and its driver on Leszczyńska Street. When she saw the marked police car, she began making nervous manoeuvres. The officers decided to stop the vehicle for inspection.
Seeing the officers’ signals to stop, the driver accelerated sharply. The police began a chase.
The 26-year-old drove at excessive speed, failed to use her indicators, and changed lanes and direction. While fleeing from the officers, she drove several dozen kilometres. Finally, on a dirt road, she lost control of the vehicle, which became stuck and stopped across the road. She then ran out of the car and fled on foot. She was arrested a short while later.
It turned out that the 26-year-old fugitive did not have a driving licence, and that her vehicle was neither insured nor approved for road use. What is more, the suspect was behaving strangely. Suspecting that the woman had been driving under the influence of drugs, the officers took her to hospital, where her blood was collected for testing.
Moreover, officers found stolen items in the arrested woman’s car: an identity card and a car camera.
The 26-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
