The incident took place on 4 November, at around 4:30 p.m. Police officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic unit, driving along Sobieskiego Street towards the roundabout, noticed a woman approaching a pedestrian crossing. They stopped to let her cross.
When the pedestrian was already on the crossing, a police car passed, on the left, a passenger Opel that was speeding. The 34-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra almost hit the woman.
The driver stopped immediately after the crossing. The police officers went to help the pedestrian. She stated, however, that she had not been injured. Despite this, she was very shaken.
The 34-year-old Opel driver lost his driving licence. He will now face court proceedings for his actions.
