The selection criteria were high, as the best soldier had to demonstrate commitment to service, strong specialist skills, and an impeccable attitude in daily official duties.
The commission, comprising members of the non-commissioned officer and private council and senior non-commissioned officers from the subunit commands, carefully analyzed all the candidates. The commission was chaired by the regiment command's senior non-commissioned officer, senior warrant officer Mariusz Skroński.
Following the votes, the best soldiers in the respective corps were selected:
- Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year 2017 – senior warrant officer Paweł Jankiewicz
- Private of the Year 2017 – senior private Dominik Flinik.
