At night, the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica was notified of an attempted break-in at one of the pawnshops in the city. Officers from the Prevention Department were immediately dispatched to the scene. When they arrived, they saw a man trying to tear out the security grille protecting the pawnshop entrance.

When he saw the police car, the perpetrator began to flee. The officers gave chase. The would-be burglar was apprehended after several metres.

The 33-year-old resident of Legnica was detained. At the officers’ request, the prosecutor imposed police supervision and a ban on leaving his home during the evening and night. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
