The incident occurred in Chojnów. At around 8:00 p.m., officers noticed a Renault vehicle. When he saw the police car, the driver began making nervous manoeuvres, immediately attracting the officers’ attention. They signalled for the driver to stop. However, he did not stop; on the contrary, he accelerated sharply and began to flee. The police gave chase.
A moment later, on Chojnów’s Market Square, the fugitive lost control of the vehicle and hit a parking lot fence. This did not discourage the 17-year-old. He got out of the car and continued fleeing on foot. He was detained after several metres.
It turned out that the young man did not have a driving licence. What is more, the teenager admitted to the officers that he had been driving under the influence of drugs. (The suspect was taken to hospital, where his blood was collected for testing).
Interestingly, the 17-year-old had another person’s driving licence and identity card on him. The documents had been lost in Bolesławiec County.
The young man now faces up to five years in prison.
