Police officers detained a young man suspected of several arson attacks. He turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. As investigators established, the vandal burned three waste shelters in the Zabobrze housing estate during the night of October 4–5. (Their value is nearly PLN 120,000.) It later emerged that the teenager had also set fire to a car worth PLN 800. That offense occurred during the night of October 8–9.
The 19-year-old confessed to both acts of vandalism. He now faces up to five years in prison.
