The crime took place during the night of October 19–20 in Bolesławiec. An employee of a construction company left a company vehicle in a car park, from which, among other things, a power generator and an angle grinder were stolen. The owner valued the losses at nearly PLN 4,000. As a result of the information gathered, police officers identified and arrested the perpetrator of the break-in. During further operations, officers located the place where the criminal had hidden the stolen items.
The Bolesławiec resident arrested in the case admitted to committing burglary and provided explanations concerning the matter. The 35-year-old has other property-related offences on his record. Officers returned the recovered property to its owner.
Burglary is punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
