The incident occurred on 17 December at around 11:30 a.m. The 53-year-old man, who was working at one of the construction sites on Dolne Młyny Street, failed to exercise due caution and fell from a height of 8.5 metres. He suffered a spinal fracture and broken ribs. He is staying in a hospital in Bolesławiec.
The police are investigating the causes of the accident. According to the officers, the man violated occupational health and safety regulations (he was working at height without safety equipment).
It is not yet known whether investigators will bring charges against the owner of the construction site.
