Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec noticed a man they knew well sitting in a car parked in a lot. The 28-year-old had been recorded by police many times for burglaries and other property-related crimes.
The officers decided to check him. It turned out that the vehicle in which the suspect was sitting had altered registration plates. It emerged that the 28-year-old had stolen the car several hours earlier in Zgorzelec. What is more, he brought a female friend to the Bolesławiec police station for questioning in the stolen vehicle.
The 28-year-old was arrested. He now faces up to 10 years in prison. The recovered car has already been returned to its owner.
