Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters caught two women and a man red-handed as they attempted to commit burglary and theft. The three residents of Zgorzelec came to Bolesławiec in the evening with a specific purpose. They wanted to steal a vehicle parked in one of the housing estates.

One of the women acted as a lookout, while the other two broke into the car and tried to start the engine. When the criminals failed to do so, they decided to steal items left inside the vehicle.

Bolesławiec police officers, driving along one of the estate’s streets, noticed two people standing beside a vehicle with its hood open. When they saw the officers, the pair quickly got into another car and drove away.

The officers stopped the car for inspection. The entire criminal trio was inside: two women, aged 20 and 23, and a 28-year-old man.

The youngest member of the gang had methamphetamine in her possession. Her older companion had two vehicle thefts on her record, while the man had been convicted of property-related offences and is currently suspected of stealing another car and handling stolen goods.

All three now face up to 10 years in prison.
