On Friday, September 15, after 4:00 p.m., the Lubin police received a report about a female driver who had crashed her car into a tree in Lubin Municipality. The woman fled the vehicle. She was arrested a short time later. As it turned out, she had fled because she was completely drunk; she had more than 3 parts per thousand of alcohol in her system. The 43-year-old lost her driving licence and was taken to police custody.

The next arrest took place on September 16, after 1:00 a.m. Police officers clearly signalled to the driver of a Volkswagen to stop. However, he did not stop; quite the opposite: he accelerated and began to flee.

A police pursuit began, joined by additional patrols. The pursuit ended quickly because the 20-year-old ended up on a roundabout, on the grass verge, damaging his car. The young man, who had more than 1.5 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system, was travelling with his 17-year-old brother.

The older brother was arrested. He faces up to five years in prison. The 43-year-old woman, meanwhile, could spend as many as two years behind bars.
